Sarah Palin should never open her mouth ever again. Period. Her accent, to say nothing of her positions, is painful to me. Her excessive use of "folksy"isms was obnoxious and affected. Her frequent misspeaking was beyond unfortunate ("No, Governor, your executive experience is not attributable to your being selected as Vice Presidential nominee..."; "No, Governor, 'Main Street' is not the [primary, anyway] cause of problems on Wall Street..."; etc.)
Also, I don't want an outsider as either my president or my vice president. I don't want someone who refuses to answer the questions (note in particular the complete rejection of the question about her Achilles heel). I don't want someone who cannot speak her native language (I originally said "English", but I would be fine with a non-native speaker of English as president)—Biden at least has an excuse, in that he used to stutter; for Palin, I think it's just that she legitimately doesn't understand a lot of things that are said to her.
In contrast, Biden came off as articulate, friendly, well-informed, and experienced. These are the things I look for in someone who will be acting as a close adviser to the president of the United States.

Hehehehe...
Once again, of course, I disagree.
But hey, we all have our opinions. But here is mine:
I loved counting the seconds in the silence after Palin crushed Biden after that Foreign Policy spar, forcing Biden to recycle the "3 week spending in Iraq, 6 year spending in Afganistan".
He floundered on Energy; Palin defeated him soundly. Coming from a state that yields a high amount of energy is also a plus.
He is fake when he plays the "Middle-Class" cars. He is the man who lives in a 5 million dollar lakeside mansion.
Palin came across as personable, likable, and actually in-touch with the American Family. She is a maverick like McCain, actually CROSSING party lines to accomplish tasks. She made a good point saying her administration is full of people from all parties.
And a great finishing sentence, "I have always been proud of my country!"
McCain/Palin 2008
Another thought, why is everyone talking about whether the candidates met expectations. Realistically, they should be focusing on who actually won the debate based on the issues and the performances. Clearly, Joe Biden was more informed and had a better performance. Sarah Palin said absolutely nothing of sustenance and appeared extremely erratic.
Biden? He's one of the Senate's poorest members!
McCain is the one who owns 13 cars and 8 homes.
True conservatism obviously hasn't watched any footave of his VP pick. She gets defensive on the easiest questions that don't even relate to politics (like the magazine question), she gives roundabout answers to those questions, and I'd bet money that she desn't know more about politics from before her VP pick. I don't want a VP who doesn't know what she's talking about, and I don't think she knows what she's talking about.
