Thought of the Day: Blogging

People in all generations (but especially the younger one) have always found it difficult to gain an audience for their opinions. The internet has changed this profoundly, offering anyone and everyone a decent opportunity to express his or her own opinions in a form that hundreds of millions of people around the world can read with a couple of keystrokes.

However, many people, especially in my generation, are turned off by the system in general. They cynically write off the media as corrupt and impenetrable. Most of the country is resigned to a false conclusion that it will never get its voice heard. The irony is that they have it backwards: it is not that the people have no voice because the media is impenetrable, but rather that the media is impenetrable because the people believe they cannot have a voice.

The only way to break out of this vicious cycle is to take the media into one's own hands, and blogging is the most efficient tool with which to do it. Blog setup is very simple, especially on blogger.com and wordpress.com.

It doesn't matter if you're a liberal or conservative. If you have opinions, set up a simple Wordpress blog or (if you're a Democrat) get an account on DailyKos.

Blogging costs nothing. There's no excuse.
