Everybody Wins

Israel's Kadima and Likud parties, led by Tzipi Livni and Benjamin Netanyahu, are both claiming victory in today's general elections. As far as it goes, both are correct, but in different contexts. Livni's Kadima had a stronger showing than Likud individually (exit polls, according to the BBC, show Kadima with a one-seat advantage over Likud). However, although Netanyahu's Likud was not as strong individually as Kadima, smaller right-wing parties made strong showings, and there seems to be a high probability that right-wing parties will have more seats in the Knesset, opening the possibility of another Netanyahu prime ministry.
